7 Months!

Levi, you are 7 Months old.

Its hard to believe that only a year ago yesterday (26th) we were finding out that you were a boy.

I remember that day so clearly. Seeing how big you were and how everything was progressing was awesome! I remember thinking that being able to see your vertabrae on your spine was pretty cool. How fearfully wonderfully you are made my sweet Levi man!

You are overflowing with personality.

*You have this new face when you are trying to figure something out or if you are excited.

(You can see him making this face in both of his 7 month Pics)

* You are sleeping sooooo much better. Praise Jesus

(Everyone please Thank the Lord on our behalf...seriously!)

*You are still in your Rock n Play, however, the time is drawing near for you to be in the crib

*You are eating 5 1/2oz every 3-3.5 hrs with one MOTN bottle around 2a

*You take 2 naps a day, and can stay up for 3 hrs or so. The last stretch of the day is about 4 hrs, since you refuse to take a catnap about 4pm

*You love bath time. We have started to give you a bath every night, although we only bathe you once every 3 days.

*You HATE bubbles in your bath. You start to kick and scream when they come near you. Its actually funny.

*You are doing well self feeding with crackers. You cant figure out puffs just yet.

*You know daddy's voice and know what direction to look for him when he gets home. It is so adorable!

We have chosen a theme for your 1st bday party so Mommy is ready to start DIYing some things here and there! I think your 1st bday is going to be a HUGE!

And your 2nd, 3rd , 4th until you start school will be just family and close friends!

We love you sweet boy!

29 Weeks

Not many pics this week because of my slobbery little boy. He was playing with my phone the other day and when I got it back from him, it was dripping wet. It doesnt work very well right now and my camera doesnt work on it and 99.9999% of the pics on my blog are from my camera.

We got home later than usual one night and I found him conked out like this =)

I have LOVED making his food. He has tried squash, peas, carrots, green beans, sweet potatoes, avocado, pumpkin, mango, apples, peaches, prunes, pears! This week we are moving on to meats. Pureed Chicken........GROSS!

6 Month Check Up and Cardioligist Appt {2 Weeks Late}

Levi had his 6 Month Check up last Monday. He was 17lbs 12 1/4oz (50%). He was 26.75 inches long (75%) nad his head was 43cm (25%)

He also had a cardiologist appt the next morning, which was a huge mistake, we should have rescheduled. He did not feel good after the shots, and spent the whole time there screaming. I cried all the way home because my nerves were just shot.

The VSD that he had when he was 3 days old has closed up so everything is great with his heart!

Ventricular septal defect describes one or more holes in the wall that separates the right and left ventricles of the heart. Ventricular septal defect is one of the most common congenital (present from birth) heart defects. It may occur by itself or with other congenital diseases.

If the defect is small, no treatment is usually needed. However, the baby should be closely monitored by a health care provider to make sure that the hole eventually closes properly and signs of heart failure do not occur.

28 Weeks

Its been a crazy two weeks. Levi has been sick with 1 double ear infection, then grumpy and had a fever after his 6 mo shots, then more fluid on his ears.

Also crazy, that even though this has been a tough 2 weeks, I have taken the most pics of him too =)

Happy New Year!!!!

We didn't do anything special, just stayed home with Levi who has had a rough week with a pretty bad ear infection. He had a rough New Years Eve night =(

As a spur of the moment idea, I thought it would be neat to take a last picture together of 2011. It was after all one of the most, if not the most, special and greatest years of our life and marriage. It was kind of sad to say good-bye to 2011. It was Levi's Birth year. A year we became a family of 4. A year that I became a SAHM. A Year FULL of changes and adjustments.

We are welcoming 2012 though.

Levi is getting so big....fast. He is doing new things daily. He will learn to crawl, walk, talk, play and explore this year. His 1st Bday is this year (Which we are already beginning to plan).

This is the year of triathlons, duathlons and 5ks for Matt. Its a struggle for him right now to find time for Training. He genuinely wants to be with us. I love that about him.

We are also starting this year off at a new Church. Its been a long prayed about decision, but its what is best for our growing family.

Happy 1/2 Birthday Sweet Levi! I cant believe your 6 months Old!!!!

Here is what you have been up to:

* You can sit up very well and have been for 2 weeks now!

* You have your 3rd double ear infection

*You weigh 17lbs, 9.5 oz

*You have tried Squash, Prunes, Carrots, Peas, Pears, Green Beans, Peaches, Avocado and YoBaby Peach Yogurt (this morning, we gave you this to offset the effects of your antibiotic)

*You love food. Your favorite "word" right now is "Mmmmmmm"

*You are still waking 4-5x a night but sleep in your room most of the night now. (In the Rock N Play.....STILL)

*You can pick up toys and pass them from hand to hand

*You are mostly in 6-9 month clothes

*You love to play with Mommy's hair

*You still love to watch Azul

* You look up at Daddy as he prays for you every night

*You are NOT a good medicine taker, except your prevacid, you suck it right down =)

*You are one handsome, adorable, squealer, smiley, kicky, lovable, smart, precious, deep thinker/concentrator and talkative boy!!!!

Drive Thru's are a blessing. I used to think of them as a convenience, but they are a blessing for mom's with babies. I have utilized the dry cleaners and pharmacy more times than I can count these last few months.

When you drop of your baby at the church nursery you get a pager so they can contact you if they need you. Well a week ago, after we dropped Levi off, I ran to the bathroom and guess what? The pager fell in the toilet. Yep....right in the pee, ewwwww! I wiped it off as much as possible, but ended up biting the bullet and taking it back and confessing. I offered to pay for it, but they were very nice. Matt says now they have labeled me as "the one that dropped the pager in the toilet" Great!

Matt and I have agreed to buy Levi (3) gifts at Christmas + a few stocking stuffers. That is enough if you ask me. I want him to see that Christmas is about giving and I hope that since we are starting this early, that he will know what to expect later. Birthdays are for spoiling =)

We are studying Revelation in our Sunday morning Life Group, and it was awesome last Sunday. Our teacher really broke everything down and had some excellent notes for our class.

I am trying to start some traditions with Levi for this time of year. We made some homemade Christmas ornaments (My mom always did this with us), I am planning on making a "Happy Birthday Jesus" cake with him and take his picture each year with the cake. We also made some gifts for daddy and the grandparents!

We are planning our first vacation with Levi in April. We are going to Atlanta to go to the Aquarium, IKEA, Coca Cola Factory and to get his pictures taking by Bower Power!

Levi will have his 1/2 Birthday in 12 days. 12 days! My baby will be 6 months old in 12 days!

We are having my family over for Christmas Eve, which is about 25 people. Thank goodness its potluck style!

I can not wait for Christmas this year! It will be so much fun with Levi!

If this is what it feels like to be proud of your children, then Levi is in for some embarassing moments, because when I look at him at 5 1/2 months and he is sitting, my heart swells so big and I just want to sqeeze him (and his chunky cheeks)!

I have spent this last week making all of Levi's first foods that are reccomended. I have made and pureed apples, peas, pears, green beans, sweet potatoes, avocado, pumpkin and peaches.

I LOVE my mumiandbubi.com ice trays. They are awesome and my mini prep food processor.

5 Months!

Levi, how can you be 5 months already??

You are so handsome and I have so much fun with you everyday!

Here is what you have been up to:

You are taking 4-5oz every 3 hrs
You have oatmeal with prunes every morning
You have 1 bottle overnight
You are very dependent on your paci during naptime
Your naps are getting better, you take about (3) hour long naps a day with a 10-20 min one about 5ish
You go to bed(Rock N Play....STILL) around 7 and are up for the day between 7-7:30, You are still waking ALOT at night and usually end up in bed with mommy
You can sit unsupported for a couple of seconds at a time
You love eskimo kisses
You have a high pitch squeal and are laughing more and more
You love Azul
You have started to drop your toys just to have mommy pick them up for you
You love to read

Matt bought us Chris Tomlin concert tickets a couple months back since Louie Giglio was coming with him on tour! I LOVE Louie! I love his messages, they always make you remember about how BIG our God really is and I love that.

Matt kindly gave up his ticket so I could invite a sweet close friend of mine to go and enjoy a GNO and catch up with her!

Another day that changed Matt and My life was a year ago today!

We heard our baby's heartbeat for the first time and we got to see our little one on an ultrasound!

We waited 4 whole weeks for that my first OB appointment. I was so thankful Baby W looked and sounded wonderful and healthy!

We had to take Levi to the dr for an ear infection =( and I decided to just carry him inside and not take in the carseat. I had to use the restroom but had no where to put him. OOPS!

Yes, he is in our bed. Yes, he ends up there every night. Yes, he and I both sleep better.

Yes, Matt and I are in agreement about co-sleeping. Yes, we know we are creating a nasty habit. We will cross that bridge when we get there.

As far as I see it, people are always telling me that they grow up to fast so enjoy these moments. SO I am. I love snuggle time with my little guy!

He does start every night in his crib (or rock n play while he is sick with a cold) so I am hoping he eventually starts sleeping there longer

I think we have sucessfully switched Levi's formula to Enfamil Prosobee ($15 a can) from Similac Alimentum ($28 a can). Its hard to tell since he doesnt feel well, but he doesnt show signs of stomach discomfort.

19 Weeks! [ Alot of Close-Ups}

Levi is always making different faces!

I love this pic. It was a nasty weather day out and it was like he was telling me, "Mom, why are we out in this cold weather?"

Well, we were out to fill our Holiday Food bag for the needy. My cart was so full, I was just hoping nothing fell on him. Oh yeah, and after I loaded all the groceries back in the cart, there was no room for Levi ( I wasnt thinking) SO I was holding all 15 lbs of him + 5lbs of Carseat in one hand with my purse, and his diaper bag, and pushing the cart with the other hand in the wind =) It was funny!

I signed Levi up for a free Kindermusik class. He enjoyed it. We are just weighing the option whether to sign him up in the spring or not. We are going back tommorrow and next week for some more preview classes before we make our choice.

His poor nose is all scratched up from his nails. I can not keep them short enough. They have a free edge every other day.

FINALLY, Here is a Silly Holiday that actually makes sense.

I heard about this on KLOVE!

Luckily for Matt, I already have dinner prepared but it.is.on.for.next.year!!!

The ideal participant in ‘National Men Make Dinner Day’ is the man who:

Helps with household chores
Has a sense of humour and is a great all-around guy
Loves his wife/girlfriend, kids and pets
Matt is the perfect candidate!!!

November 3: National Men Make Dinner Day

Thursday, Nov. 3 is National Men Make Dinner Day--a day created to encourage men who are not typically in the kitchen.

According to the website describing the holiday, recipes and ideas from men who already cook, are welcomed. However, this holiday is truly designed for those who are a bit more intimidated by the kitchen.

A few important rules described on the site include:

The main meal must include a minimum of four ingredients and require at least one cooking utensil other than a fork.
Men must go shopping for all necessary ingredients. Bonus points if he takes inventory of cupboards and fridge first, so you don't end up with two 64 ounce jars of pickled pimentos.
Men must create the meal unassisted. The family should stay away from the kitchen (unless the smoke detector goes off).
Wearing an apron is optional, but bonus points are given if the recipe includes one of the following: capers, saffron, or the word 'scallopini'.
Men set the table, and pour the beverages. No ketchup bottles, sour cream containers, or big boxes of salt on the table.
Men must also clear the table before being given access to the TV remote.

Oatmeal Cereal and 4month Stats

We took Levi to his 4 month check up Friday and he had to get 3 shots and an oral one as well. He was 14lbs 12.5oz (75%) and 26 inches long (90%). He is one healthy happy big boy and we are so thankful for that! We got the green light for starting solids so here are a few pics and a couple videos of his experience. We started him with oatmeal then we will move on to veggies which I am planning on making so I was excited to get started and see what he thought!

I bought these dishwasher/waterproof labels for Levi's bottles and things for when he is in the nursery. They were only $7 for 60 from etsy.com. I liked the band kind from inchbug.com but I thought these were a better deal and cheaper.

Matt and I am so ready for Twilight: Breaking Dawn Part 1

I am also ready for the Chris Tomlin/Louie Giglio Concert coming in November. Matt bought us tickets and I especially cant wait to hear Louie speak

Why do they make baby sleepers with snaps??????? I only have a few with zippers, so the nights when he is wearing one with snaps and I am trying to change his diaper (also with snaps) Levi gets pretty annoyed quickly.

Matt and I want to cruise SOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOO badly. We have come so close to booking one in February, but we ultimately decided to wait. It will be easier without bottles, formula, etc. We just have to be patient.

Since Levi and I spend alot of time at home, I dont get to listen to KLOVE much. We started to let Levi listen to it at night, and I get to listen to it too during the bottle sessions. I am loving so many songs right now

6 Hours of Herb 2011

The weekend of October 15th, Matt and his mountain biking buddy, Davis, participated in a 6 hour mtb race. They relayed the race alternating laps. They each completed 4 laps for 8 total laps totaling 70+ miles in 6 hrs 12 min. They finished 5th of 11 teams.

He has the most adorable square face and chin dimple =)

He still enjoys being worn in the sleepy wrap, although I am starting to research different kinds for when he is older and something Matt doesnt mind wearing.

He is tired here.....we are still battling the whole sleeping issue, but napping seems to be getting better.

Back to the sleeping issue, he only wanted to sleep with me for 2 weeks straight. He looks cozy huh?

Back to the sleeping issue, he is snuggled up to me in my bed. Never thought I would co-sleep, but I NEEDED SLEEP TOO! He sleeps pretty good with me, except for his flailing arms smacking me in the face =)

He is really liking his toys. This is an owl lovie that my friend Becca got him. Matt wants to call him "hooter''.....his name is "Owlie"

Azul has to get out of the house at least once per week or he ends up driving me crazy. He gets so excited and he loves his carseat!

I had to stop unexpectedly the other day to have my tire checked. Azul got to come inside with me. He was a huge hit with everyone!

Levi has started to notice Azul just this week. He started laughing at him while we were playing in the floor earlier in the week and it had us all laughing.

Matt was holding Levi this morning and Azul was running all over the place and got Levi cracking up!

I went and grabbed the flip cam...so glad I did.

Over the last year, there have been numerous days that has changed Matt's and my life and one year ago today was one of them. Last October we found out that we were expecting our first baby. I will never forget what I felt as I saw those two pink lines. Matt wasn't even up yet and didnt even know what I was doing. I came out as he was getting out of bed and I remember asking if he was in a good mood, and he said "yea, why?" I showed him the two pink lines and cried.
*I didn't have time to do anything cute, I was estatic*

****Please pray for a family on my June 2011 Babycenter Forum, one of the moms lost her baby, Drew to SIDS last Thursday. He was a week older than Levi****

This has made me so sick to my stomach all weekend long. I cant even imagine. I complain all the time about Levi waking up 3x a night for bottles, but I know that Amy would give anything to have her baby Drew back. I am now thankful that my precious Levi wakes up for those bottles, and so blessed that the Lord has taken care of him each and every moment.

Another day that he just woke up. His papa said he looked like a grumpy old man.

We had to take Levi to the doctor because he was refusing his bottles and screaming bloody murder after he burped. We tried everything and finally took him in.

He had a double ear infection but with no other symptoms, weird right?

He was a smiley boy, then screamed for 20 min until he was seen by the doctor.

You are such a big boy and I am so blessed and thankful that I get to stay at home with you each and everyday.

I told Matt the other day that I needed a project to do. I came across Decor Chicks Pretty Yarn Wreath and knew that I wanted to make one for our front door for fall. Its Pretty!

I followed her directions and here she is!

I realize that I used a summer Gerber Daisy, but I was trying to work with what I had, and I liked the colors.

9 weeks Photo Shoot and a Dr. Visit

Levi had his 2 month Dr. Visit yesterday and he did great. Such a brave, strong boy during his shots. He did cry just a bit then was smiling 2 min later. He weighed 11lbs 13 1/2oz (50% percentile) and was 23 1/2" long (75% percentile).

If you notice on his left arm, there is 2 red marks. We asked his pediatrican about this and he stated that it was a "strawberry birthmark" that will most likely get a bit bigger then dissapear by the time he is1 year old.

He is such a sweet boy who is finally feeling better! Praise the Lord!

Saturday night, we went to a friend's wedding and just before the bridesmaids walked down, Levi started to cry and I couldnt calm him down. So.....

Me and Him had a car date while Matt stayed for the wedding.

As soon as we got to the car, Levi calmed down.

Even with the AC on, it was still hot. I finally got the idea to put up our sunshader (not sure if thats what it is called)

A few things that I've learned...

You eat when you can. No more dinners with Matt at the same table at the same time....at least for right now. I have eaten lunch at 9:30am the last couple of mornings. Thats when I've had the time. As far as dinner, it sits in the microwave for awhile until Levi is situated =)
Babies Cry. Thats how they communicate with you. So as far as crying in public, people can GET.OVER.IT. (I'm not talking excessive crying here) Its just like toddlers who are whiny and keep yelling at the parents "I'm Hungry!" or " I want this!" ****I can say this because I used to be the one who was annoyed****
Showers make you feel human again!
Breastfeeding may have been the hardest thing that I have tried as a new mother, but bottle feeding is equally as tough (in a sense) Just think about all the bottles that need cleaning, formula that you have to buy, toting everything around when you go out, getting it all ready, making sure its the right temperature, finding the right bottle. You could have just whipped it out and been done with it =)
Cloth diapers are awesome. Not so scary after all. In a few more weeks, we will have saved the money used to buy the cloth diapers in the first place. BTW, Happy Heinys are great. You just wash in hot water with Tide, and tumble dry, then restuff!
Some expensive baby gear sometimes isnt worth it. I HATE my Angel Care Monitors! Hate them. They do not work correctly and always give false alarms and have static and I just Hate them. Lessoned learned!
Having a child later is great! Especially if you have a SIL who has 3 kiddos and passes everything down to you, has great advice, is a phone call away and is head over heels for her nephew!!

So thats it....for now. Many more lessons to learn!

Levi, I can't believe that you are a month old already....that is just nuts! I got the idea to take a monthly pic with the same stuffed animal every month to compare how big your baby is getting.

I have decided to do monthly pics instead of weekly ones. It works better for me right now. I will try to still update on a weekly basis on the blog. I do keep a written journal so I will definitely keep that updated!

Pray for my little man, we started him on Prevacid for reflux, so I pray this helps him to feel better!

You are 4 weeks old!

*You are taking 2 1/2 -3 oz of formula every 3 hours

*You sleep very well at nighttime in your rock and play sleeper

*You coo'd for the first time Friday 07/22/11

*You have really taken to the swing lately

*We tried putting you on your tummy to sleep, and you woke up 10 min later

*I absolutely love it when you stretch after waking up....it is the.cutest.thing.ever!

*I have started calling you "Levi Man" I'm not sure where that came from but I keep saying it

*You had your first bath on Tuesday 07/19/2011 and you liked it and the lotion massage afterwards

*When you are finished eating, you go on "lock down" mode with your lips. Its so Funny

*You are holding your head up really well and can move your head from side to side

*We had to try Gripe Water with you because you are sooooo gassy. Its the way you take your bottles and you just gulp air. We have tried the wider bottle from Dr. Brown and Playtex Nursers, and we are sticking with the wider bottle from Dr. Brown

*You had two bad days this week, I guess its from you being so gassy. One day, you didnt sleep at all and the next you slept all day long and wouldnt eat much and would ONLY sleep in the sleepy wrap next to mommy. I enjoyed it though I didnt get a proper shower in two straight days =)

*We went back to church on Wednesday night....first time for mommy and daddy in nearly 2 years
*You are taking your pacifier very well
